Protection of Electrical Instruments

Minimum Protection for EHV Lines  : Overcurrent & Earth Fault Relay. Distance Protection Relay. Minimum Protection for Transformer : Overcurrent & Earth Fault Relay at Primary  & Secondary Side. Restricted Earth fault . Differential protection. Gas pressure Relay, WT, OT Relay. Over Voltage protection . Minimum Protection for HV Feeders : Overcurrent & Earth Fault Relay. Translay relay. Minimum Safety Working Clearance of 2.6 mts to be maintained in between bare conductors & live parts in 11kV lines . Different Transmission line Voltages & there Distances. Transmission line voltages Transmission line Distances 11 KV (10- 30 km ) 33 KV ( 30 - 50 Km) 66 KV ( 50 - 100 Km) 132 KV ( 100 - 200 Km) 220KV ( 200 - 300 Km) 400 KV ( 200 - 300 Km)

DG Preventive Maintenance Checklist

Image
DG CHECKS: A CHECK (Daily/ Weekly) : Check Engine oil Level in DG set. Radiator coolant level. Check Diesel Day tank level. Check Battery voltage, Distilled water level . Check all Air Filters, Breathers, water Separator condition check V belt Condition. check Cleanliness of DG. B CHECK (Every 300 hrs or Every 6 Months) : Change Engine oil. Change Oil filters, Fuel Filters, Bypass Filters. Change Air filters, Water separator. Radiator Cleaning with Chemical . Clean the Dg set. C CHECK (Every 1500 hrs or Every 1 Year) : Repeat A & B check . Check all Electrical Equipment Condition Check Pollution Level. Change Water Separator  Replace Breathers. Inspect Alternator Starter . Change All Filters. D CHECK (Every 6000 hrs or Every 2 Year) : Repeat A & B check . Clean & Calibrate Fuel Injectors If Required. Turbocharger Service. Cylinder Head service. Check Fuel Pump Calibration. Change Coolant , Descale Cooling s

Power Dip in HT line

Image
Power Dips in  33KV LINE Power Dips are commonly observed in HT lines despite Electricity Board is making efforts to reduce it due to diverse loading effect on Transmission and Distribution lines . Power Fluctuations occurs due to various reasons : Sudden switching of Heavy inductive Loads. Short circuit or open circuit faults. Switching ON High Current Equipment Weather conditions Lightening . Power Dip Effects:  Huge financial losses to Production plants , All rotating machines in plant gets interruption during power dips ..Monthly Production target gets affected due to frequent dips . Sophisticated Equipments ,Electronic Equipment gets damaged . In Software Data center , where UPS , Precise air conditioning units gets tripped causes software servers interruption  cost huge financial loss It has effects on Hospitals , Pharmaceuticals industry, Defence etc.. The solution for Reducing Power Dips in 33KV

33KV HT RELAY

Image
HT RELAYS : The below Relay are Combination of Two over current(O/C) One Earth fault (E/F) relays in a Single unit . ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION DISC TYPE RELAY Types of HT relays :   1 . OVER CURRENT RELAY 2. SHORT CIRCUIT RELAY                                         3.  EARTH FAULT RELAY   OVERCURRENT RELAY :  It is induction Disc type Electromagnetic Relay with IDMT characteristics . Different characteristics of O/C RELAY are : Instantaneous Definite time IDMT Very inverse Extreme inverse Overcurrent relay (inverse ) type set at   0.75 Amps Relay  tripping time set at  0.1 sec. Earth fault Relay set at   2.0 AMPS Relay  tripping time set at  0.1 sec.

HT CABLE FLASHOVER

HT Cable Damaged  Report : HT CABLE   HEAT BARRIER - HIGH TEMPERATURE SUSTAINING TAPE HT CABLE GOT DAMAGED DUE TO THIS  HEAT BARRIER GOT MELTED CAUSED FLASH OVER  AND BURNED THE OUTER SHEATH . DUE TO SUDDEN HIGH SYSTEM VOLTAGE CAUSE HEAT BARRIER TO GET MELTED . DUE TO CONTINUOUS HEATING IN CABLE , THE HEAT SHRINK MAY GET MELTED AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO CABLE ....
